This page contains resources that have been selected to help you teach the topics of breathing, respiration and exercise. There are materials to help the novice get started and also resources that will help established users extend their practice.
Web-based resources illustrate the physiology and mechanisms involved in breathing, gas exchange, homeostasis and the effects of exercise. Health implications, such as asthma and the effects of smoking, are also explored.
The resources have been carefully chosen to be of the highest quality and relevant to the provision of GCSE Biology. They include animations that can be used with interactive whiteboards or as a learning and revision aid for individual students. Sources include the Association for Science Education website, Schoolscience and other reliable web-based sources.
