In-school training to meet your specific needs

Knowing your subject, and being able to bring it alive, is vital in teaching Triple Science GCSEs.

As both new teachers and learners find some aspects of the Triple Science GCSEs specification difficult to get to grips with, LSN offers tailored training and consultancy to whole departments - at no cost to your school.

We offer training in raising attainment and curriculum planning. We also cover GCSE Biology, Physics and Chemistry, including specialist modules in the following topics.

Biology

AQA: Biotechnology; Fermentation and food; Transport in blood
Edexcel: Biotechnology; Behaviour in humans and animals
OCR 21st Century: Heterotrophic nutrition
OCR Gateway: Physiology and living body systems; Respiratory system and disease
WJEC: Microbes and disease

Chemistry

AQA: Ionic detection; Instrumental measures
Edexcel: Water; Detergents
OCR 21st Century: Alcohols; Carboxylic acids and esters; Green chemistry
OCR Gateway: Natural fats and oils; Water chemistry; Quantitative chemistry

Physics

AQA: Satellites; Waves
Edexcel: Thermionic emission
OCR 21st Century: Spectra and brightness of stars
OCR Gateway: Circular motion; Logic circuits
WJEC: Radiation; Momentum

Bespoke consultancy is available to specialist Science, Engineering, Technology and Mathematics and Computing colleges, required to offer Triple Science GCSEs by their next re-designation, and schools who are planning to offer them in 2009-10.
