The supplementary guidance is intended to help departments in planning to meet National Curriculum requirements when they are designing a condensed Key Stage 3 curriculum. It has been based on early lessons from the two-year Key Stage 3 project. This is based on the lessons learned from the Two Year Key Stage 3 project and provides guidance to help schools evaluate their readiness to implement a condensed Key Stage 3 curriculum and make effective use of the flexibility in the Key Stage 3 curriculum.
