Triple science CPD – free to schools, led by specialist science colleges
Hear directly from successful triple science practitioners
LSN has funded the Specialist Schools and Academies Trust (SSAT) to coordinate up to 20 science colleges to host learning visits across England as part of the Triple Science Support Programme (TSSP).
The learning visits, which take place between December 2008 and March 2009, are CPD events for teachers, focusing on triple science. They are likely to include elements of lesson observation, discussion, self evaluation, planning and hands-on workshops.
Each event is at least four hours long and will run in schools distributed across each region. The content will include elements of:
• Curriculum models in planning and teaching triple science
• Pedagogy and subject-specific content
• Raising achievement in triple science
• Collaboration with other schools, business, HE or FE
• E-learning for triple science

Why attend a triple science learning visit?
• Hear from schools that have tried alternative delivery models for triple science.
• Hear directly from experienced triple science teachers how they have raised attainment
• This is CPD by triple science teachers, for science teachers
• Get practical realistic tips and solutions to planning and pedagogy
• Form networks with others introducing or developing triple science provision
Specialist science colleges are expected to teach triple science both in their own schools and in their families of schools. The schools leading this CPD have an extensive and successful track record of teaching triple science, and are experienced at providing CPD to local networks of schools. Eligible schools will be contacted to apply in September 2008.
School contact and event booking details will be listed on this site in November 2008
